TV: The Walking Dead (Episode 7, Season 2)
This episodes title made me giggle a bit to myself upon thinking back on this whole show: “Pretty Much Dead Already”
Glenn announces to the group that the barn is full of walkers and panic/anger ensues, as expected. Maggie and Glenn have their falling out, again (over the exact same thing), and kiss and make up. They’re weird. Girls do strange things, and they do especially strange things post-zombie apocalypse. As Andrea and Maggie have both proven!
So, the whole episode is about the barn full of zombies – those whom Herschel and Maggie (along with the rest of the people residing on the farm before Rick’s group came along) consider family and friends. Rick tries, during this time, to keep Shane at bay but of course that doesn’t last long – I’ll get to that in about two seconds.
I think Rick said “LORI IS PREGNANT” for shock factor about three times during this episode. I might be wrong, but it feels like he did it a whole bunch of times. Intense conversation-anger-anger-intense debate-shouting-Lori is pregnant [conversation over and opinions are changed]. Rick and his crew want to stay (well, except for Shane and Andrea and by all means – you two, please make like a tree!)
Shane approaches Lori and says that the child is his. She denies this to him, even if it’s true. Shane is going to lose his mind even more so, I know it. Dale tries to warn Andrea that she’s hangin’ with the wrong dude, but she doesn’t listen (as usual). Dale tries to hide the guns and Shane finds him. Things get tense there. Boring, though, only because I know they were teasing me with the whole gun in Shane’s face bit. Lots of nostril flaring on Shane’s part and Dale truly showing that he is a vulnerable old man only trying to do right. Shane’s not having any of it. Luckily no one got hurt during that scene. I love Dale.
Now, the ending. What a bloody massacre. Shane and the rest of the crew brutally destroy the walkers in the barn, as if in a war zone – line ‘em up and shoot ‘em down. Herschel and Maggie are buckled over in devastation as their hopes of seeing their loved ones alive fade before the audience’s eyes. Then… Sophie shuffles out of the barn. Talk about instant karma, people. Now, Rick and his crew are forced to do something they don’t want to do, but know they have to (again). Sophia is shot point blank in the face by Rick. I’m glad he’s the one who did it. If Shane did it, I probably would have broken my beautiful flat screen television.
My thoughts on this entire episode? Um. Moving on, please?

Hope your flat screen made it through the newest episode.
