TV: The Walking Dead (Episode 5, Season 2)

Well, this last episode was a little bit more exciting than last weeks! Is anyone with me in thinking Shane and Lori should never speak to one another? I dread moments when they’re alone together. Their dialogue is so pathetic. I’ve got my hate on for both of those characters.

Lori is pregnant with Shane’s baby and she’s keeping it quiet. I was happy to see Glen give her hell for not telling Rick about the goings on between her and Shane before he showed up back on scene. However, that one scene where Shane and Lori are hanging out on the highway with everyone while the military just bombs the heck out of the city was pretty amazing. However, WHO LEAVES THEIR SON WITH TOTAL STRANGERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE HUSBAND IS OBVIOUSLY BEATING AND CONTROLLING THE WIFE?! There’s something seriously wrong with this woman. Her and Shane just… wow. Wow. I WAS SO EXCITED when Rick came up to her and said “I’ve just had a long chat with Shane,” and she panicked. However, I thought he meant the same thing (but really, why would they not show that to the audience, right?). I was a little let down when I realized he meant about what to do about Sophie.

This little girl is causing all sorts of problems. Is she alive? Evidence shows she might be. Daryl put his life on the line for her and almost died this episode, TWICE! We can thank Andrea for that lovely graze against his skull for being too much of an idiot and not listening to people when they ask her not to shoot. She needs to be removed from the show. Andrea is useless and a total whiner. Dale needs to (1) take the gun away from her and (2) not make her feel better about almost killing a man. She should sit on that porch and cry forever for being a useless sillypants.

I suppose I’m ranting more so in this entry. I liked the episode because they focused more on Daryl and his strange relationship with his brother. Wasn’t that creepy? The fact that he was able to keep himself going was because of the hallucinations he had of his brother, Merle, totally controlling and belittling him. Their brotherly relationship was obviously a lot more screwed up than I had imagined. Looks like Daryl was manipulated and emotionally abused. He was a victim. Yet, he still loves his brother – you can tell, even though it’s very apparent how much he hates him. His brother motivated him somehow. Weird.

I’m so glad he didn’t die. I was so upset when they made us think Andrea shot him in the head and cut to commercial. So upset.
